Provides clients with incentives to learn life skills as they earn "Baby Bucks" to spend in the "Baby Boutique" on items they need. Once enrolled, a client works with an advocate to choose a curriculum that fits their needs and interests.  Clients earn "Baby Bucks" while they learn how to be better parents.   There are programs available in financial planning, relationship building and communications tools. Available resources includes: layettes, diapers, wipes, clothing - sizes infant to 2T,  car seats, cribs and baby furniture.

Education Resource Program offered at Obria Medical PNW - Port Townsend

Offers a support program for pregnant women and families of infants and toddlers. Parenting education and advocacy, as well as assistance obtaining free baby food, formula, diapers, car seats and maternity/baby clothing provided.

Programs that pay for or provide new or secondhand cribs, bassinets, strollers and other furniture that has been designed for infants/babies.

Baby Furniture

Programs that provide educational and supportive services that help teens who are or are about to become parents, to prepare them on an emotional and practical level for the impact the newborn will have on their lives and relationships. Initial focus areas include healthy eating for the mother, danger signs in pregnancy, sibling preparation and being ready for labor and delivery, followed by practical information on basic infant care, newborn behaviors, baby supplies, bathing techniques, diapering, breastfeeding and other feeding options, as well as infant and childhood illnesses. Later topics may include walking, talking, toilet training and other aspects of child development, all to help ensure that infants and toddlers are nurtured, live in a safe environment and receive proper health care.

Teen Expectant/New Parent Assistance

Programs that provide educational and supportive services that help new parents or those expecting a child, to prepare them on an emotional and practical level for the impact the newborn will have on their lives and relationships. The programs are open to all parents. General Expectant/New Parent Assistance

Parenting seminars, frequently taught by experienced fathers who bring their own babies to class, that help to prepare expectant fathers for their parenting role. The workshops provide opportunities to discuss a variety of issues with "veteran" dads such as bonding with the baby, balancing work and time spent with the baby, stretching their income, developing a parenting team, supporting the needs of a new mom, dealing with advice and criticism from relatives, and managing stress and health and safety issues; and include opportunities to practice feeding and burping a baby, changing diapers, holding and comforting a baby, playing with a baby, soothing a crying baby and other tasks related to parenting a newborn. Some programs focus on the parenting needs of a particular ethnic group, deal with cultural issues related to fatherhood and may be available in a language other than English.

Also included are programs that provide booster seats for older children or provide referrals to organizations that provide the seats or the safety checks.

Child Passenger Safety Seats

Programs that accept canned food and other food resources and keep the food for use in their own programs or donate it to food banks, food pantries, meal programs and other community-based food programs for distribution to the people they serve.

Food Donation Programs

Programs that accept new or secondhand bassinettes, cribs, strollers and other furniture or equipment for infants, refurbish them if necessary, and keep them for use in their own programs, donate them to other community-based organizations for distribution to the people they serve, or sell them to raise money for agency programs.
