Provides a variety of parent education classes from the "8-week Circle of Security" to a 24-week Nurturing Program.

For example women may receive education on Labor and Delivery, counseling services to help cope with the life changing circumstances that come with a new pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nutrition education. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Infant Case Management: Enables healthcare providers to educate and support women and their family after the baby delivery. Services are provided by a member of the agency's interdisciplinary team. The goal is to improve the parent(s) self-sufficiency in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services. *  Services are offered in: Grandview, Prosser, Spokane, Toppenish, Walla Walla, Wapato, and Yakima.   Maternal Child Health: Enables healthcare providers to address healthcare needs and concerns regarding the child. A professional can assist by visiting the child and mother at home. *  Service is offered in: Yakima County only.   Maternity Case Management: Enables healthcare providers to educate and support women and their family during your pregnancy and after delivery.   Services include: -  Community Health Nurse -  Social Worker -  Community Health Worker -  Registered Dietician Provides personalized home and office visits focusing on the needs and concerns at certain stages of the pregnancy and after delivery.  For example education on Labor and Delivery, counseling services to help cope with the life changing circumstances that come with a new pregnancy, breastfeeding, and nutrition education. *  Services are offered in: Walla Walla, Salem, Portland, and Woodburn, Oregon.

A community hub where individuals and parents with children can attend programs and workshops, access community resources, connect with others, and receive information and referrals. Services vary by location but may include use of the phone, use of the fax, access to applications for subsidized apartments, assistance applying for government programs such as TANF and EBT, and use of the computer work stations. Clients are not able to use the resource center as a mailing address. Some financial assistance is available dependent upon funding and eligibility requirements.

Provides connections to after school programs, camps, outreach and engagement, teen prevention programs, teen mentoring, a community gymnasium, and public events.

The New Parent Support Team (NPST) is a voluntary program for expectant/new Navy parents.  Home visitation is the core service, with a focus on the health needs of infants and toddlers, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education, family/social support, and resources within the community.  Services focus on supporting the parent as well as parent-child interaction and child development.

Multi-service family support program offers outpatient mental health services for children and families. Services include case management, brief intervention treatment, less restrictive alternative support and family, group and individual therapy.  Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Parents as Teachers Partners with parents to support their child’s growth and development. Twice-monthly visits focus on learning through play, understanding the stages of child development, helping through the inevitable challenges of parenting, and supporting overall family well-being. Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Also offers weekly, bi-lingual playgroups. Parent Cafe's Playgroups include open play time, art projects, structured movement or song time, stories, parent support/coaching, and time to connect with other adults. Welcome Baby Boxes Gives parents essential supplies for their new babies. The baby box includes a sleep sack, washcloths, a Vashon onesie, and a hand-made quilt, along with parenting books and a Thriftway gift card. Clothing, diapers and some baby supplies are also available.

The program is specifically designed for families facing difficult life circumstances and parents who desire to develop family-building skills. Parenting Class: Parents learn the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports system, used by many school districts. Parents have the opportunity to connect on a deeper level not only with their own families, but with their peers. Kids Groups: Kids learn the life skills necessary to understand, talk about, and cope with what is happening in their lives in healthy, positive ways. Kids meet at the same time as Parenting Class.

Offers assistance with essential needs and develops supportive, nurturing relationships to walk the journey with young families in need. PREPARES Baby Supply Bags: provides basic baby supplies, based on the age of the child and can include diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, books, and toys. Family Companions: provide an opportunity for a pregnant or parenting family to be matched with a trained family companion volunteer who gives the family ongoing support and encouragement. Find comfort and guidance with the support of a family companion who has walked the path of parenthood and empathize with its joys and struggles. Play and Learn Groups: facilitates play groups to support early brain development and kindergarten readiness: play group curriculum is based on the latest research in early childhood brain development and family engagement. Play groups give parents and informal caregivers a free, accessible place to meet other families and get support. Sessions are held weekly in community spaces in the child’s own neighborhood and language. Parents as Teachers (PAT): develops curricula, trains early childhood professionals, and certifies parent educators to work with parents to provide them with parenting support and information on their developing child. Vision: All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.

The Port Angeles Resource Center, fondly known as the Orville Campbell House, at First Step offers a safe place to find resources for your family. We have a free clothing and equipment closet, information and referrals, indoor and outdoor children’s play area, free diapers and formula, access to phones, computers, fax and copier, healthy snacks, free children’s books, and a Little Free Food Pantry and Fridge!

Children and families are supported in the community with evidence-based practices and creative partnering with community organizations. Staff work to build quality relationships for children in the family, school and community.  Services offered include: Family consultation, Family crisis intervention, Community support services for children and adolescents,  Professional counseling and therapy for children and families,  Assessment, education and referral resources for families regarding child/adolescent issues, Specialty areas Parent and adolescent groups, Summer experiential social skills program, Psychiatric medication services, Wrap Around with Intensive Services (WISe). Services may be provided in person or via telehealth.

Offers free and confidential information, direct assistance and advocacy to individuals and families who speak Russian or Chinese languages and have limited English language skills. Helps people to navigate systems, find resources, learn about programs and connect to their community. Services include, but are not limited to the following: - Help with basic needs such as health care, food stamp, housing, financial security benefits, transportation, etc. - Sign up ESL and assistance in naturalization application - Assistance with children’s school issues - Signing up for social and recreational activities - Child care resources and school system – Informational and educational workshops All services provided are confidential.

Helps Spanish-speakers find needed social, health, or human resources in their community. Also provides individual advocacy and assists filling out documents.

Provides family navigation services for Walla Walla County families with children ages 0-18. Helps families access urgent needs, such as counseling, legal services, and other necessities. Also offers a long-term track to support families to develop and achieve individualized goals.

Provides families a monthly allotment of diapers, wipes and ointment.

Provides a variety of supportive services, including a clothing closet, healthy snacks, family advocacy, mentors, and participation in community activities and events.

Telephone and in-office assistance with information and referral for services in the Stanwood and Camano Island area.  

Provides education, information, support and resources for children and families.   Services and activities are based on Family Support Principles and include:   -  Parent education -  Case management -  Family counseling -  Cultural and recreational activities    Staff and families work together in relationships based on equality and respect that enhance families' capacity to support the growth and development of all family members.  Parenting curriculum meets court ordered parenting class requirements.

Provides Resource Navigation to support individual's and family's immediate and future areas of need as well as setting goals for a more sustainable future. Offers a variety of resources to help connect, provide, or work one-on-one to access items like basic utility support, limited rental assistance (City of Monroe and City of Snohomish only) transportation resources, employment, legal, and more. Spanish Resource Navigator available.

This program is dedicated to guiding families in finding community resources and facilitating connections with essential services via a team of Family Resource Navigators (FRN). These services may include navigating state benefits, local financial resources, employment and financial education, one-time financial assistance, rental assistance, basic needs items, and more.

Programs that link families to community resources and offers parenting classes and workshops, English and Spanish toddler playgroups, bi-annual infant clothing and toy swap.
