Includes walking activities for new families to get outside in nature, explore mindfulness, meet other new parents, and get their questions answered by a nurse and bilingual Spanish speaking community health worker.

The New Parent Support Team (NPST) is a voluntary program for expectant/new Navy parents.  Home visitation is the core service, with a focus on the health needs of infants and toddlers, prenatal and postnatal care, parent education, family/social support, and resources within the community.  Services focus on supporting the parent as well as parent-child interaction and child development.

The Port Angeles Resource Center, fondly known as the Orville Campbell House, at First Step offers a safe place to find resources for your family. We have a free clothing and equipment closet, information and referrals, indoor and outdoor children’s play area, free diapers and formula, access to phones, computers, fax and copier, healthy snacks, free children’s books, and a Little Free Food Pantry and Fridge!

Maternal Health Services provides community-based programs and services focused on providing preventive health and education for growing families throughout Central Washington. With a staff dedicated to giving families a healthy, hopeful start in life, Maternal Health Services offers programs in genetic counseling, maternity support services, maternal child health home visiting and coordination of regional perinatal improvement programs. Services available: - Central Washington Genetics Program: Offers genetic counseling, specialized genetic testing and diagnostic services. - Maternal Child Health Program: Provides office and home visits by a community health nurse or a licensed counselor. For those who need assistance with nutrition, a WIC (women, infants and children) program is located adjacent to the Maternal Health Services office. By giving women the information and support they need to make healthy choices, Maternal Health Services strives to promote healthy babies and strong families. All services are available in English and Spanish.

Pregnant patients get one-on-one support from a Certified Community Health Worker and Registered Nurse throughout their pregnancy. Also provides education on a healthy pregnancy, and helps arrange lab work, ultrasounds, and doctor visits. Postpartum services, including support with feeding your baby, breastfeeding and breast pump support/teaching, and mental health support as well as family planning services.

This department functions as a health clinic, focusing on medical diagnosis and appropriate treatment and/or referral.

Provides emergency room and level III trauma care, family birth center, rehabilitation for illness, surgery, injury, heart attack, or stroke; cardiology (24/7 emergency treatment of heart attacks) sleep disorders center; wellness classes, adult volunteer opportunities, and home health services.

Families can also use their WIC QR code to spend summer Farmers Market benefits and monthly Fruit and Vegetable benefits at approved farmers markets and farm stores. Participants can receive $28 of Farmers Market benefits, with a maximum of $84 per family.

Offers free nurse home visits for caregivers and their newborns. Provides a medical check-up on the birth parent and the baby, as well as education for the family, lactation assistance, answers to any questions the family may have, and connection to local resources that help families thrive. Also offers weekly support with a virtual and in-person Baby Lounge - a place for all families with babies to connect and learn together as parents. Groups are facilitated by a health professional. There are child care stipends available, and refreshments are provided.
